The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) Mr Ossy Onuko has warned residents within Awka Capital Territory, especially at Ifite Awka (UNIZIK school area) to ensure that their soakaways are properly channeled because the Authority is fully ready to take actions against any defaulter.
Mr Onuko said this yesterday during the Desilting of Drainages that have been blocked around Ifite school gate.
” These drainages have been blocked over the years because all these student hostels channel all their waste to the drains which has been failing some portions of the road badly.”
“This is one of the many steps ACTDA will be taking to rescue Ifite school gate from turning into a Mega Slum”, he said.
The ACTDA Boss who said that the exercise has entered the second day enjoined ndi Anambra to collaborate with the state government towards ensuring a clean and healthy environment because the power of achieving a liveable and prosperous homeland lies in our hands (MOI).
